Point of View who are well known of video graphic cards made a quite interesting breakthrough by implementing the NVIDIA ION on their Mobii ION 230. Before this product, there wasn't any netbooks with NVIDIA Ion graphic processors on it.

The combination of ION graphic chip and Intel Atoms is now shown on this product and it raises hopes from consumers who would like to see full PC capabilities in small, low-power designs. The Mobii ION 230 combines Intel’s Atom 230 CPU with NVIDIA ION graphics. The combo is expected to result an amazing netbook without sacrificing battery life.

The heart of the ION Graphics Processing Unit is DirectX 10 and Shader Model 4.0 which enables and powers a 10.2” 1024x600 LED LCD screen. With NVIDIA graphics technologies such as PurevideoHD and CUDA, netbooks now will comply with hardware acceleration in applications (games, image editing), high definition video encoding and playback.

Other features of the Mobii Ion 230 are an upgradable 1GB of DDR2 memory and a 160GB hard disk. Multimedia features such as the SD/MMC card reader, Wireless-G networking, 1.3M pixels webcam and optional Bluetooth V2.0 make the Mobii ION 230 a versatile mobile computer. The in and output connections include 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN connection, audio in/output and 2x USB 2.0 ports. Last but not least, the standard 6-cell battery of 4400mAh can power up the Mobii mini-notebook up to 4 hours.

The new and improved Mobii will be available in the colors black, red and lime.

Fashion meets netbooks, this is probably one way to increase sales and differ from the mainstream netbook products. Recently LG, a company from Korea, announced that they will release a mini-notebook with the application of Levi's jeans brand design. It is known as the Levi's special edition of X-Note Mini which is to be released soon.

Levi's special edition in addition, will have Levi's jeans as the material of the mini-notebook pouch (storage pockets), and the product is limited to only 2,500 units. If you would like to purchase it is available from GSeShop (at 24 July 2009). This product will be on sale for only 28 days and probably people outside of Korea will not have a chance to buy this product.

Recently a computer peripheral firm from India named Intex announced a new netbook, the N101-WC1100.

The Intex netbook is actually the same with all those netbooks abundant in the market. Specific technical details are it has been designed on an Intel Atom platform and also the popular Atom N270 1.6GHz processor. The system also has the standard 1GB of RAM memory, a 160GB SATA hard drive, integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics and a LED backlit 10.1-inch display. It weighs in at 1.2kg, battery included, and we hear that it can be upgraded with 2GB of RAM.

The 10-inch netbook also packs wireless 802.11 b/g networking and Bluetooth and is said to be capable of providing users with about 4 hours of battery life. The netbook also brings a 1.3MP webcam, a 7-in-1 card reader and 10/100 Ethernet LAN connectivity.

A unique mark about this product is the sleeky design that will surely appeal to young consumers. The netbook is available in two designs, the chic red and the elegant black.
